The Gift of Reiki Self-Treatment

My late husband, John Harvey Gray would say to his students, "A Reiki practitioner can treat him or herself with Reiki just as effectively as if he or she were being treated by another Reiki practitioner. Reiki is the only modality where the practitioner can be his or her own healer!"
And John was right. One of the greatest gifts Reiki offers us is the ability to heal ourselves, to be our own healers. Reiki self-treatment is so powerfully effective because we, as Reiki practitioners, do not use our own energy to do the healing. Once we are attuned to the Reiki energy, whenever we touch "cells with a purpose," that is, living cells in the body of a human, including our own body, animal, or plant, the cells that come in contact with our hands recognize that Reiki energy is available and start drawing it automatically. There is no need for prayer or meditation. It matters not that the cells are in the body of another being or in our own body. The process works in either case. It is completely automatic. We, as Reiki practitioners, are channels for the energy. The process of energy delivery does not require any type of effort or concentration on our part. In fact, we can practice Reiki self-treatment when we are asleep. The Reiki energy flows whether we are asleep or awake. Coming Up! Reiki Crystal Healing
September 18, 2011
Healers have been utlizing crystals and healing energy as powerful tools for thousands of years. Crystals transmit and amplify energy. Crystals also store knowledge and information. Because each kind of crystal vibrates at its own unique set of frequencies, the crystal is able to work on a specific condition or problem while helping to restore a state of balance and harmony.
In this workshop you will learn how to utilize crystals and Reiki synergistically during a session for healing the mind, body and spirit. Crystals and tuning forks will be available for you to practice with during the workshop. There also will be crystals and tuning forks available for sale.
In this workshop you will learn how to:
- Use muscle testing and dowsing to help you select the right crystals for yourself and for your client
- Use crystals during a Reiki session
- Cleanse your crystals
- Charge your crystals with Reiki
- Do a full body crystal layout to balance the chakras, clear the aura and bring healing to the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical body
- Use a crystal tuning fork calibrated to the Shumman resonant frequency of the Earth to activate the healing properties of the crystals

September 24-25, 2011
Reiki, pronounced "ray key", means Universal Life Force. This energy is all around us, and we can channel it.
The Reiki process is a simple method of hands-on healing as developed by Dr. Mikao Usui, a minister from Kyoto, Japan. After training, Reiki energy flows through the arms and hands of the Reiki healer and into the cells of the person being treated. The energy is used to normalize body functions. It helps to reestablish balance and harmony on the physical, emotional, and spiritual planes so that the natural function is restored. Reiki differs from other healing methods in that a specific attunement process is used to prepare students for the flow of healing energy. This protects them from either transmitting or absorbing any negative energetic patterns.
By the end of this First Degree Reiki Class you will be able to:
Deliver effective and powerful Reiki treatments for yourself, family, friends, clients and pets.
Use Reiki to heal any condition--physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.

Have you ever met a person and instantly felt a 'like' or 'dislike' toward that person, yet you did not know why? "Dear Lourdes,
I wanted to share with you some wonderful news about my work on the Reiki team at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. This month, the Business NH Magazine mentions the team at DHMC in an article titled "Alternative Medicine Fights To Go Mainstream". I am on the 16 member volunteer team and I work 3 to 4 hours a week. In that time period, I see approximately 8 -10 patients ranging from critical care, cardiac care, neurology, medical surgical, inpatient chemotherapy and general inpatient. Time permits only being able to spend 20 - 30 minutes on each patient because of the high demand of patients to be seen in that short window of time. A very important component of my work is to have the patient complete a before and after evaluation of pain, anxiety, depression, fatigue, nausea and overall sense of well being. They do this on a number scale from "zero" being not symptomatic to "10" being the worst. I have yet to find a patient that has not had dramatic changes in their numbers after a session. Even a short, 30 minute session is so effective! If there pain, nausea or anxiety is "7" when I start, it is not uncommon to see it come down to a "2" or even a "zero". These patients and there families are amazed by the simplicity and gentle relief that is achieved. I have yet to find anyone who doesn't want to schedule a follow up Reiki session!
I feel so honored to do this service for my community and to help validate Reiki as a complementary mode of medicine in such prestigious establishment such as DHMC. I will be forever grateful to you Lourdes for the wonderful Reiki training and confidence you have given to me to "pay forward" to others."

"Dear Lourdes,
I have had a number of wonderful healing experiences. Giving direct treatment, a friend of mine came to visit before going to the Dana Farber center in Boston. She has a rare form of leukemia and nothing was working and her kidneys were being damaged by the chemo. It was a last ditch effort to meet with specialists in Boston. I gave her a treatment right before the doctor's visit. After seeing the doctor she reported that everything was working great and she would be in remission in the next month or so. Her treatments were being decreased.
Another client that I felt something in the eyes turned out to have ovarian problems. She had an operation to remove both ovaries and is feeling wonderful. She continues to see me once a week and loves Reiki!
My daughters migraines disappeared for three days after direct Reiki, and she is feeling terrific after SHK to relax (remote healing).
Another client feels much better after regular treatments for arthritis. Still another, who is in her 80s, is now walking longer distances and feeling more energetic after one treatment. Most feel warmth, tingling and a euphoric feeling while receiving direct Reiki. As far as my own self treatment, since May, my blood pressure has gone down 30 points and so has my cholesterol with no other variable than Reiki self-treatment.
In terms of goals, I have overcome writer's block and creative blocks generally and have started writing, sculpting and painting more productively. I am less tired after giving treatments and can feel the energy flowing more efficiently. I think I am learning how to get out of the way!
