Reiki Treatment for Stroke

This Reiki treatment for stroke position was developed by John Harvey Gray, the longest-practicing Reiki Master Teacher in the United States, to treat conditions where the brain is unable to properly communicate with muscles in the body, e.g., stroke, MS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Parkinson’s, etc. The effectiveness of the position hinges on your hands resting directly over the brain’s primary motor cortex–this is the part of the brain responsible for maintaining communication with the muscles of the body. Giving Reiki directly to this part of the brain supports the body’s natural ability to re-establish communication between the brain and the muscles.
Equally important is that you practice the Reiki treatment for stroke position as part of a complete Reiki treatment routine, that is all 3 patterns of hand positions, anytime you are giving Reiki to stroke victims or to people or pets suffering with other neurological conditions. Although, this Reiki position is most effective when used as soon as possible after a stroke, it should also be used on an on-going basis for long-standing conditions.
Disclosure: We always remind our readers that Reiki is is not a substitute for medical treatment when it is needed. Always consult a licensed medical professional before giving Reiki to any condition you may have.
How To Use The Reiki Treatment for Stroke
- Place the heels of your hands together.
- Bring your hands to the top of the head.
- Your fingers should run from ear to ear.
- Treat at minimum 10 minutes at a time and as often as possible.
- Use as part of a complete reiki treatment–all 3 reiki-hand patterns as needed.
Thanks Lourdes for sharing!
I assume this position would help with Parkinson’s as well?
Thank you, Kristin. Yes, the position is very helpful for Parkinson’s
Hi Lourdes,
I your working on yourself your hands will be in the opposite position, with fingertips touching on the crown. I am presuming this is fine and will have the same affect, when i work on myself like this i know i can feel the benefits. But would there be more benefits to having another work on me.
THANK YOU 🙂
Thank you for this valuable information. Is there a way to do this in a self-healing hand position?
Hi Donna,
Yes, for self-treatment just reverse the hands … fingertips together and runs the hands from ear to ear.
Yes, that is correct.
